Many times when clients first come in after an accident, the first thing they want to know is how much their case is worth. And this is not an answer we can honestly give someone. There are what we call “feel good” attorneys, who will tell people the highest possible number they can dream of, in order to encourage the person to continue with them as their attorney in the case. But the truth is, until a case is properly developed, and that means seeing how your medical treatment develops, we are unable to honestly tell you what your case is worth.
Now this also involves preparation of the case, how the case is prepared, where it goes, where the insurance company is, who are the other attorneys in the case. Primarily, it depends upon what type of injuries you have. For example, what may first appear to be a sprained neck may evolve into something that requires surgical intervention because of a herniated disc. So it takes us a period of time before we can properly evaluate a case.
