Howell Township Workers Compensation Attorney Discusses How Long a Work Accident Case Takes

construction injury accidentA Workers’ Compensation Case in New Jersey, generally speaking, depending on your medical treatment, will be concluded within a year. Now, there are those cases where your medical treatment may extend well beyond that period of time, in which case it can take between two and five years. I advise clients as a Howell Township Workers Compensation Attorney that we have cases in our office that are over five years old that are Workers’ Compensation cases with the people are still treating.

What you have to know about a Workers’ Compensation Case, though, is that once a Workers’ Compensation Case is concluded, you still have two years from the date you received your last payment from the Workers’ Compensation carrier after your case is concluded, to re-open your case if your condition is exacerbated. In other words, it becomes worse. Your case has concluded, and then you need an operation a year later. You have to go back and ask the insurance company to provide you with medical treatment. If they refuse, your Howell Township Workers Compensation Attorney can do things about that. You can reopen your case because your case is never closed, as long as you’re receiving medical treatment.

Have you been injured at work and want to know how long the case will take? Contact our experienced Howell Township Workers Compensation Attorney.
