Should I Obtain a Lawyer if I Get Hurt on Someone Else’s Property?
Some folks come in and ask if they’re injured on someone else’s property, do they need a lawyer to pursue the case. I always tell them this: the first thing that’s going to happen is you’re going to get a call from an insurance company asking for a recorded statement. I advise no one to give recorded statements to insurance companies or even speak to insurance companies regarding an accident unless they have an attorney. It is well advisable that you secure an attorney under any of these circumstances, because the odds are, in our experience, when slip and fall injuries are concerned or injuries on people’s premises are concerned other than your own, the insurance companies are going to be reluctant to pay unless you have an attorney. So I’ll advise anyone under those circumstances to secure legal council as soon as possible.
